About

A calmer way to run an event.

LMC Events is a Sydney event management business built around one belief: the person whose name is on the event should get to enjoy it.

Our story

Built for the businesses the big agencies overlook.

Most event management is priced for large corporates. If you're a small or medium business marking twenty-five years, opening a second site, or just wanting a Christmas party the team talks about in January, the quotes come back at 15–25% of your budget and the conversation usually stops there.

So the work falls to whoever on staff is least able to say no. They plan it around their actual job, chase eleven suppliers on their lunch break, and spend the night itself running the room instead of enjoying it.

LMC Events exists to close that gap. Full event management, the same standard the big end of town gets, at a fee that a growing business can justify — and a single person accountable for all of it.

Who you'll be working with

Libby McMurray, founder.

Two years in the events industry and a Diploma in Business (Event Management) — built on a hands-on foundation rather than a theoretical one. Before ever holding a run sheet, she worked as lead bartender across events at Cronulla RSL, learning guest engagement, teamwork and how a floor actually runs when a room is full.

That grounding led to founding LMC Events and delivering its first event: Ebro Armaturen Pacific's 25th anniversary on Sydney Harbour, managed from concept to execution.

What we believe

Four things we won't compromise on.

Clear pricing, always

You see an itemised budget before anything is booked, supplier costs are passed through at cost, and our fee is a stated percentage of a number you've already approved. No markups hidden inside a supplier invoice.

One person, all the way through

You won't be handed from a salesperson to a planner to a coordinator on the day. The person you have the first call with is the person standing in the room when your guests arrive.

Honest advice, even when it costs us

If your date isn't achievable, if the budget doesn't match the vision, or if you genuinely don't need an event manager for what you're planning — we'll tell you. A referral you trust is worth more than a job we shouldn't have taken.

Calm is the deliverable

Things go wrong at events. A supplier is late, the weather turns, a speaker overruns. The value isn't in pretending that won't happen — it's in you never finding out that it did.

The introductory rate

Why we're charging 10%.

Because we'd rather build a reputation than a margin.

LMC Events is new. What we need most right now isn't a high fee — it's a handful of events done exceptionally well, and clients happy enough to say so. So for our first few clients the management fee is 10% of the event budget, against an industry norm of 15–25%, with a lower daily and hourly rate than standard for any extra on-site days.

Nothing about the service is reduced to get there. Same planning, same supplier relationships, same person on the floor. The only thing that's smaller is the invoice — and that offer won't stay open indefinitely.

Where we work
Sydney, and anywhere worth travelling for.

We plan events across Sydney — the CBD, the harbour, the inner west and out to the suburbs — in function venues, restaurants, offices, private homes and on the water. If your event is further afield, ask us. We'd rather have the conversation than assume the answer.

Common questions

Things people ask before they call.

You're a new business — why should I trust you with my event?
A fair question, and we'd rather answer it directly than dress it up. LMC Events is new as a business, and we're upfront about that. What we'd suggest is a discovery call: ask us how we'd approach your specific event, what could go wrong and how we'd handle it. You'll learn more from twenty minutes of that than from any list of logos on a website.
What happens if something goes wrong on the day?
We plan for it. Every run sheet has contingencies for the things that realistically go sideways — weather, a late supplier, a no-show speaker, a headcount that shifts on the morning. Our job is to solve it in the background. Most of the time the host finds out afterwards, if at all.
Do you take commissions from venues or suppliers?
No. Supplier costs are passed through to you at cost. Our income is the management fee you agreed to, which is why we can recommend the right supplier for your event rather than the one paying the best kickback.
Can you work with our existing suppliers?
Absolutely. If you already have a caterer you love or a venue you always use, we'll work with them. Bringing in our own suppliers is an option, not a condition.
What information do you need to give me a quote?
Roughly what you're marking, an approximate date, a rough guest number and a rough budget. Even ballpark figures are enough to get started — part of our job is helping you firm those up.
Let's talk

Twenty minutes, no obligation.

Tell us what you're planning. We'll tell you honestly what it takes, what it's likely to cost, and whether we're the right people for it.
